Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru is both a law and business graduate, with a PhD. in Law from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), and an MBA from the Vienna University of Business & Economics (WU)
Since 2004 he has been teaching at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, first at the UNESCO Chair of the Faculty of Business Administration (teaching in foreign languages) as assistant professor, then as assistant professor, lecturer and now associate professor at the Law Department. The main courses are: Business Law, Contract law, Company Law and European Union Law. From the beginning, he has been trying to find the best ways to pass on the core business law materials to students, adjusting lecture /seminar resources to market demands.

In the attempt to improve, Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru has organized and participated in numerous legal or educational conferences, working groups or seminars dedicated to pedagogy or specialization courses in business law studies or European studies. Thus he graduated from Masters or postgraduate programs like: Master on International and EU Law at Faculty of Law, N. Titulescu University, European Integration course at University of Bucharest, ”Policies of the European Union” Course at Diplomatic Institute of Romania, the EU Institutional Law course of the Academy of European Law (ERA) and the European Company Law course of the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) or European Competition course at Academy of European Law (ERA).
As an entrepreneur in fields like real-estate, tourism, construction or HORECA and corporate lawyer, he has managed to bring a little bit of practice into educational activities by combining theory with various business examples useful for the understanding of the law by future entrepreneurs. The practical activity has made him specialize in Business Law, with all its complex branches, from civil to corporate law, and European business law rules related to the business environment.
Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru is a founding member or associate of several national, European and international professional associations, such as: Romanian Society of Construction Law (President), European Society of Construction Law (ESCL), Romanian Society of Business Law or European Corporate Governance Institute.
