Learning outcomes:

This course provides an overview of the fundamentals of business model innovation and sustainable business model development focusing on the nature, environment, and risks of new venture formation and established businesses. The course is built primarily around a series of case study discussions and business model examples. Classes will be a mix of lectures, case analysis, individual work, group discussion, and presentations. Students will be routinely asked to compare and contrast the materials read and build their own innovative business model. Emphasis is on real business model development, critical discussion and review.
 
Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to: define the overall framework of any business model, demonstrate a business model innovation mindset, build a business model innovation strategy, bring design thinking to the business model, implement sustainable business model innovation, and discuss how societal challenges impact business models.
